AN UPWARD PATH OF A DISCIPLE:
A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent
by Dr. Michael Lewis, with Jason Schmaltz edited by Charity Lewis
The Psalms of Ascent are a group of fifteen Psalms (Psalms 120-134) which were sung by pilgrims on their way up in elevation to Jerusalem during the yearly Jewish festivals. Beginning with a call to repentance, Dr. Michael Lewis discusses each Psalm, outlining steps that lead to a life overflowing with blessing. We are reminded that God has not left us without a “road map,” but has given us the secure promise of success through living out His word.
A special feature of the book is the eight trail guides that are included for hiking in the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park (near Marietta, Georgia). Jason Schmaltz, an experienced hiker and Christian layman, provides specific directions, relating each trail to one of the Psalms discussed in the book.

Becoming a Pastor's Advocate

“Research tells us that pastors are 52 percent more likely than the general population to have experienced loneliness in the last three months. Our ministry leaders need close relationships to prevent burnout, fatigue and isolation. Thankfully, Michael Lewis and Andy Spencer are not only aware of these statistics, they’re doing something about them. Pastor Michael is an effective, relevant ministry leader and passionate example and messenger of Great Commission living empowered by Great Commandment love. He’s also human. Lift Your Pastor tells Michael’s story and how he has been able to ride out the increasing demands of ministry because of God’s provision of a pastor’s advocate. Andy is a faithful church leader, successful businessman and world-class encourager. Lift Your Pastor shows how Andy has learned to support, encourage and care for his pastor. His role as a pastor’s advocate serves as an example for us all.”
